  • Johnny Sexton will be on the bench for Ireland’s first Test against Australia at Brisbane on Saturday as coach Joe Schmidt makes six changes from the side which beat England in March to win the Grand Slam.

Munster-bound Joey Carbery replaces Sexton at outside-half, with Robbie Henshaw coming in for centre Garry Ringrose in the only other change to the backline.

There is a new front row of Jack McGrath, Rob Herring and John Ryan, and flanker Jordi Murphy starts as Peter O’Mahony takes over the captaincy from injured hooker Rory Best.
