  • On the move: Scotland and France are hoping to make an impact this year.

Scotland face the unenviable task of travelling to Paris to play France in their opening Six Nations match. The Scots have experienced better fortunes under new coach Vern Cotter but France will be confident that their new half-backs Rory Kockott and Camille Lopez can put them on the front foot.

    – Six Nations: Team-by-team guides

Ahead of the Stade de France clash, Dubai Sharks player and France fan Etienne Masson said, "We haven't been going very well for the last few years so hopefully we will start a new winning phase, which we haven't experienced for a long time."

"With winger Teddy Thomas there is a lot of expectation. He made his debut in the Autumn Tests and was quite impressive so he is one of the players to look at. Another one is not a French guy but Rory Kockott the scrum-half is a very strong player that can do something to win the game in the dying seconds.

"Camille Lopez is a very nice player with good hands. Defence is the weak point of Camille but he can make a difference."

"We haven't lost against Scotland for a long time now. All other teams we have lost to in the last three years at least once so I am going to go for a win to France as we are playing in France aswell."

Scotland have not tasted success on French soil for 16 years but under new coach Vern Cotter, Jebel Ali Dragons player Murray Strang is confident that his team could break their French hoodoo.

"It is a real opportunity for Vern Cotter's first real competitive game to go and lay down a marker and come back to the safety of Murrayfield with a bit of momentum.

"I'm never too worried when I watch the first half that Scotland will give a good account of themselves and restrict the other team but like I say can they push on, score tries and go and win games instead of just staying in the contest?"

Finn Russell has been going very well at Glasgow. He's exciting and he like to try things and he's not just a 'play the corners' and passing, kicking game that Scotland has been used to at number ten."
