  • No holding back: Quins have been superb in the Top Six so far this season.

Abu Dhabi Harlequins player-coach Jeremy Manning is refusing to look ahead to the West Asia Cup final despite his side continuing their flawless form against the Dubai Hurricanes.

Quins made it nine wins from nine in the Gulf Top Six as they swept to a 43-23 victory at Zayed Sports City, with centre Rob Buaserau the star man as he helped himself to a hat-trick.

Quins have already secured a place in the April 4 showpiece thanks to their imperious performances, but Manning insisted his side would not be switching their focus from their last league fixture in Bahrain on March 21.

“We looked down the track too far during the UAE Premiership, and that came back to hurt us,” he told Sport360°. “We will keep going from week-to-week, and that will be the focus in training.”

Quins fell behind in the early stages before the devastating talent in their backline made the difference.

The visitors did, however, manage to get three tries of their own through Adam Short, Antoine Bertheuil and Olly Hazell.

Hurricanes now wrap up their campaign with a local derby with Jebel Ali Dragons, who may need to win to secure passage to the competi- tion’s showpiece.

“Whatever the situation, a Canes v Dragons match is always a fixture that brings in a big crowd,” Canes skipper Guy Potter said.
