  • With the UAE rugby scene rapidly growing in popularity, Sport360° decided that it was time to learn a bit more about the players lighting up the Gulf Top Six this season.

This week we spoke to Jebel Ali Dragons hooker Sean Crombie to find out who his favourite team are and his greatest moment playing the sport.

Rugby team you support: Scotland and Kirkcaldy RFC

Best international at the moment and why: Sean O’Brien, all-round athlete who I enjoy watching when he’s fit

Rule you would change and why: The one that annoys me is touch judges being fussy on myself standing in the middle of the line-out and making eight players move rather than me stepping a foot to the right

Best game you ever saw: Scotland 19-13 England, in 2000 at Murrayfield

Toughest opponent in UAE: Duncan Murray (Hurricanes)

Funniest moment in your career: Coming back from injury and my first game is out of position, lining up in the back row against Jerry Collins

Greatest achievement in any sport: Winning international caps for Scotland in sevens

If you could be a professional in any sport what it would be? NFL, same amount of contact but a third of the games

Favourite meal: Anything involving goat’s cheese

Favourite place in the UAE: Girders, Ocean View Hotel, JBR
