Dubai College 1st XV team ended their season on a high by claiming the DASSA Under-18 rugby title. They held their nerve to defeat Dubai English Speaking College 8-7 in a closely-fought encounter recently.

It was the latest success for Dubai College, who had triumphed at the British Al Khubairat (BSAK) 7s and were crowned DASSA league champions this season where they remained unbeaten.

In March, they sealed their fourth straight title – winning the Dubai College 10s on their home turf after they beat competition from the regions’ best to retain their Gulf Under-18 title at 7he Sevens Stadium in December.

“It’s an astonishing achievement,” said Andy Jones, director of sport at Dubai College. “For them to show remarkable courage and commitment speaks volumes and they should really be proud of themselves.

“For any team, whether you play professional or not, to go the season unbeaten is a fantastic achievement and they deserve all the credit this season.”

He added: “The boys put in a lot of hard work and effort in training and it has all paid off – on the matches when it counts.”
