    Dubai’s annual tennis extravaganza gets underway in less than a week, and with the best players in the world in action on court and a packed entertainment programme, the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium will be the place to be from February 15-27.

    With the women’s week coinciding with half-term break for many of the schools in the UAE, a host of new activities for fans of all ages are on offer both on court and in the Tennis Village.

    This year’s programme features a busy daily schedule of children’s activities, including a kids’ tennis freestyle workshop and performances from a tennis trickster, photo opportunities with players, autograph sessions, bouncy castles, arts and crafts, face painting, sponsor activities and entertainment by the new tennis break dancer team.

    Along with the activities there are numerous competitions to win great prizes including the opportunity to meet and have a hit with the world’s best players, and win finals tickets.

    And in a special offer this year, the Irish Village have come up with an exclusive Tennis Menu at lunchtime during the WTA week.

    Those who enjoy the special menu will also receive complimentary afternoon passes for the first three days of the first week, and fifteen lucky families will also win tickets to the WTA finals.

    More prizes are on offer for kids who enter the Championships design competition in the Irish Village.

    Fans in the stadium can win the opportunity to have their photo taken with the players before the match and conduct the coin toss, as well as winning a signed tennis ball from the players.

    Fans can watch post-match interviews with the players in the brand new Dubai Duty Free Social Media Tent as well as getting the autograph of their favourite players during autograph sessions held on the first Monday of each week.

    And for the ladies, the brand new Tennis Ladies Night will be held on Tuesday February 16.

    Those who come dressed to impress and enter the ‘Stylish Surprises’ competition, could win an invitation to the exclusive Players Party on Tuesday night and mingle with the stars of the tournament.

    “With the world’s best players coming to Dubai for the tournament and a bigger and better schedule of activities in the village, we are set for an exciting fortnight of action with a fantastic atmosphere,” said tournament director Salah Tahlak.

    “Tennis fans will be delighted with the number of opportunities to interact with the players and as usual, our annual WTA and ATP Kids’ Day will see a huge number of kids taking part.

    “Activities in the tennis village will provide plenty of entertainment for adults and kids for a great family day out and there will be a number of opportunities to win those sought after finals tickets.

    “We are encouraging everyone to come down and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere and activities that are on offer both inside and outside of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium”.

    Tickets are still available for every day of the women’s week and for the first few days of the men’s week.

    There are still opportunities to win finals tickets, with competitions in the stadium, on ARN radio and on the tournament’s Facebook page, all offering great prizes.

    The Irish Village and restaurants will be buzzing for the fortnight, so even those without tickets can watch the action live on big screens while enjoying the atmosphere and roving live entertainment.

    Play in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships begins with the WTA event which features world No1 Serena Williams, Wimbledon finalist Garbine Muguruza and Australian Open Champion Angelique Kerber.

    The men’s event will see four-time champion Novak Djokovic, Australian and French Open winner Stan Wawrinka and former Dubai runner-up Tomas Berdych all in action.
