NOVAK DJOKOVIC (SRB) vs JIRI VESELY (CZE)
Few players can boast a winning record against Djokovic but Vesely does having shocked him on the clay on Monte Carlo in April. Djokovic was well in control against Janowicz in the first round but still doesn’t look 100 per cent.
SPORT360 PREDICTS: Djokovic in four sets
RAFAEL NADAL (ESP) vs ANDREAS SEPPI (ITA)
Nadal was pretty impressive in dispatching Istomin and takes on another veteran in the second round. Nadal beat the Italian in straight sets at the Olympics and with Seppi out of form for the year, this could go the same way.
SPORT360 PREDICTS: Nadal in straight sets.
RYAN HARRISON (USA) vs MILOS RAONIC (CAN X5)
A nice US-Canadian match-up with the pair having not met since 2012. Raonic’s star has very much risen since then and while Harrison should be buoyed by some home support, the Canadian should take care of this one.
SPORT360 PREDICTS: Raonic in straight sets.
MADISON KEYS (USAX8) vs KAYLA DAY (USA)
Madison Keys was the bright young thing of US women’s tennis… until Kayla Day came along. The 16-year-old junior is playing in her first grand slam main draw. It will fascinating to see how she fares, irrespective of the result.
SPORT360 PREDICTS: Keys in straight sets.
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI (DEN) vs SVETLANA KUZNETSOVA
Wozniacki laboured to victory over Taylor Townsend and urgently needs to raise her game, in particular her movement, if she’s to have a chance against Kuznetsova who’s won four of her last five matches against the Dane.
SPORT360 PREDICTS: Kuznetsova in four sets
