  • On the move: Ashkan Dejagah joins Pablo Hernandez in moving to Al-Arabi from the UK.

English Championship side Fulham have sold Iran international Ashkan Dejagah to Qatar Stars League outfit Al-Arabi, according to the London team's manager, Felix Magath.

Dejagah, 28, joined Fulham from Wolfsburg in 2012 and  went on to make 49 appearances during his time at Craven Cottage, scoring six goals.

The move follows Dejagah's fine World Cup campaign with Iran, who managed to surprise their competitors with some stirring displays and the winger at the heart of their attacking threat.

"Having spoken with Ashkan, we decided in the best interest of both Fulham and himself, that he would leave the club," said Magath. "We wish him very much luck for the future at Al-Arabi.

"During his time with us, he made some good appearances and scored some memorable goals. However, we decided to part ways.

"It will always be our policy to have players who are committed to the club and have a desire to work for the common goal."

Al-Arabi finished fifth last season and have already strengthened their playing squad with the signing of Spanish winger Pablo Hernandez from Swansea City.

Former Chelsea player, and Al-Arabi manager, Dan Petrescu had also claimed that the club were to sign Xavi before the Spanish icon decided to stay another year at Barcelona.
