  • Extra attention: The coaches at CFT are highly qualified and bring out the best in each of their students.

Clark Francis Tennis’ (CFT) new season begins next month with some great programmes which are now open for registration.

Starting from Saturday, September 6, CFT have lined up tennis programmes across various venues in the UAE for both adults and children, from learning the basics of the popular game to hitting and training sessions.

It’s ideal for anyone who wants to learn the sport or interested in improving on certain aspects of their game.

While, CFT offers courses in mini tennis, outdoor junior training as well fast track programmes – all of which require advanced bookings, there are some programmes where you don’t need to pre-book to get in.

For instance, the Ladies Morning session will continue four times a week, where CFT qualified coaches will show you technique, strategy and give tactical tips on court. It’s a fun 90 minute session programme at Dh60 per session, with its primary aim in improving and developing stamina, speed, agility and endurance.

And, if you’re looking to improve your hitting techniques, then there’s a two 90-minute hitting sessions per week, costing only Dh80.

Additionally, there is also the ‘Hit with the Pros’ session which will take place three mornings per week from Dh60 per session. It’s a unique opportunity to play with top coaches and an excellent way for players to train hard.

Paul Espie, assistant director at CFT, says the programmes have been made specifically to cater to players of all abilities.

He said: “We are looking for people who are looking to play and want to join new programmes.

One of the positive elements on our adults programme in particular is you don’t have to commit to it. Our general adult coaching programme is pay and play, apart from certain programmes, so you don’t have to commit to anything.”

Children can sign up for the junior programme with each lesson aiming to build on confidence, focus and consistency. The highly qualified coaches at CFT use colourful teaching methods, co-ordination exercises and fun games whilst teaching.

And with the start of the season a few weeks away, Espie advises interested players to apply quickly to avoid disappointment.

He said: “Now is the best time to get bookings and confirm places as when the kids go back to school, we get hundreds of calls. So if they get an opportunity to call now then that would be fantastic. There are a wide range of tennis coaches here and you are never too late to learn – you can always learn techniques every day.”
