Shanshan Feng dominates to win second Dubai Ladies Masters title

  • Setting the standard: Dubai Ladies Masters champion Feng Shanshan won the tournament by five shots.

    China's world number five Feng Shanshan, the highest ranked player in the field, completed a wire-to-wire victory at the €500,000 (Dhs 2.2 million) Ladies European Masters in Dubai on Saturday. 

    Feng closed with a two-under par 70 and tallied 19-under par 269 for the four days. She won the 2012 edition of the tournament with a record winning total of 21-under par.

    Spain's Carlota Ciganda finished second at 14-under par, while Germany's Caroline Masson was a shot behind in third place.

    England's Charley Hull wrapped up the Order of Merit crown when she finished tied fifth at 10-under par, while Wales' Amy Boulden was the Rookie of the Year.

    Feng, whose 70 on Saturday was her worst round of the tournament, made two bogeys on the back nine against four birdies overall.

    World number 12 Anna Nordqvist of Sweden shot a 70 to finish fourth at 276.
