Asian Tour stars have lauded organisers of the inaugural Dubai Open, which brought the curtains down on a memorable 2014 season. Promoted and organised by golf in DUBAi, the $500,000 event saw India’s Arjun Atwal prevail by one shot at the magnificent Els Club Dubai.

“This is one of the best run Asian Tour events I’ve ever been to… ever. Right from organising player transport to player dining to the practise facility, it’s fantastic. The golf course is in great shape, and everybody is so nice in the clubhouse. It absolutely gets my vote for No1,” said champion Atwal.
India’s Jeev Milkha Singh, who has travelled around the world playing in top golf tournaments, said: “I think the way it’s turned out, it was fantastic. The player lounge, the golf course, the staff of the Asian Tour and golf in DUBAi, they’ve put the time and effort to ensure there was a personal touch for every player.
“On behalf of our players, I want to thank them for being so nice and giving us such a good welcome and tournament. I hope we come back again next year.”
Korea’s Mo Joong-kyung, who finished top-10 on Sunday, said: “This is one of the best venues which we’ve played this year.
“It’s a great place for a new tournament on the Asian Tour, no doubt about that.”
Australian Unho Park said the hospitality provided by the organisers was truly outstanding as the players were made to feel special throughout the week.
“It was great fun. The players were very well taken care off, one of the few tournaments that we are look after so well with the courtesy cars and player lounge,” said Park.
