  • Setting the pace: The winners from Round Two of the 2015 SWS Ramadan Challenge.

Atef Al Barwani overcame a strong field as he powered to victory in the Grand Final of Round Two of the 2015 SWS Ramadan Challenge at the Dubai Kartdrome.

But the tightness of the competition was shown with four different drivers winning each of the four heats ahead of the Grand Final.

Alexandre Silanine won Heat 1, Rami Azzam took Heat 2 honours, Atef Al Barwani topped Heat 3 and Heat 4 going to Ali Al Mansoori.

Thus the scene was set for an int-riguing climax and it was the four heat winners who dominated. Al Barwani and Silanine managed to pull away from the chasing pack, and engage in their own duel with Al Barwani crossing the line a mere half second up on Silanine.

Behind the top two Azzam had a lonely race to third, with Round 1 winner Al Mansoori settling for fourth after fending off Arnaud Bouf in fifth.

Bouf did enough to scoop top prize in the Masters class, with Adrian Jones second and Carsten Winter third.

Wadee Al Kharusi was sixth, ahead of Muhammad Imran, Saeed Al Falasi, Ali Al Najjar and Hussain Umid Ali rounding out the top 10.

Emirati drivers Al Barwani and Al Mansoori, who both drive for the F3 Racing Team, are clearly the men to beat in this year’s edition of the series and look set to slug it out for the prestigious Ramadan Challenge crown which comes with a horde of great prizes.
