ICC Academy to compete in Dubai’s first women’s cricket league

    The Dubai Cricket Council has established the Emirate's first ever women’s cricket league, which will take plae at Dubai Men’s College.

    The ICC Academy, GM Academy and Sharjah Cricket Academy will battle it out in a round-robin format, with the top two teams progressing to a final.

    Credit for the initiative goes to the Dubai Cricket Council and its chairman Abdul Rahman Falaknaz who promote women’s cricket without any sponsorship.

    There is no entry fee for the teams and the kits will be provided by the DCC at no cost.

    The tournament will be an annual event with matches taking place throughout the week.

    Trophies will be awarded to the winners and runners-up while with best batswomen, bowler and Player of the Tournament will also be recognised.
