  • There is plenty to do for the entire family during the F1 weekend.

The 2015 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the world’s only twilight race and culmination of a fascinating 2015 season, is back, bigger than ever and ready to go beyond the expectations of race fans from across the world to enjoy arguably the most dazzling race of the season.

Honours for the FIA Formula 1 World Championship driver and manufacturer accolades may well already be in the bag, but there’s still a plethora of on- and off-track activities and experiences to enjoy befitting of F1’s typically glamourous traditions.

With thousands of race-fans expected at the luxurious and iconic Yas Marina Circuit – the centrepiece of Yas Island, the emirate’s entertainment destination – racegoers can enjoy a greater selection of on- and off-island entertainment options, enhanced hospitality, allnew individual ticket packages, and the introduction of a one-day roaming ticket for Friday.

Away from the racing action, visitors are guaranteed a packed programme of entertainment, including Oasis areas – themed entertainment zones in the main, north and west grandstands – challenges and games to keep the whole family amused, and world-class, Alist musical artists at the after-race concerts.

Beyond the circuit, the emirate will come alive. Entertainment and local culture will form a backdrop to the motor racing drama as the UAE’s biggest and best sporting and entertainment weekend will kick-start the UAE 44th National Day celebrations, a major theme of this year’s Grand Prix. This will be reflected in an increase in heritagerelated, off-track activities, affording the many thousands of international visitors an authentic taste of Emirati tradition and history.

November hosts a range of events suited to all interests. Art enthusiasts can catch works from some of the emirate’s finest artists at Emirati Expressions, while classical tastes are also catered for with the second season of Abu Dhabi Classics – an emirate-wide celebration of the best of classical music from east and west which runs until May.

This year, the experience also coincides with a chance to interact with the UAE’s culture and heritage at the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, running from November 20 at Al Wathba on the outskirts of the capital.

The action will not stop in November, as the Al Ain Air Championship returns for its 11th edition which takes to the skies between 17-19 December, just one of many fascinating events and attractions of the beautiful oasis city, and UNESCO-inscribed heritage heartland of Abu Dhabi Emirate.

For the visitors and guests in Abu Dhabi, Formula 1 is one of the most exciting times of the year. With so many things happening all around them, it could also be the start of an amazing journey of discovery of Abu Dhabi.
