  • On target: Nishan Gamage.

Nishan Gamage stole the show with a four-wicket haul as Dart Link Group held their nerve to stun Interface Transworld in the Punjab Premier League.

At Ajman Ovals, Gamage conceded just 19 runs in his four overs as Dart Link won by one wicket. Batting first, Interface scored 125-9 in their allotted 20 overs with Salman Babar the stand-out batsman, hitting an unbeaten 27 from 19 deliveries.

The Dart Link run chase was going according to plan. After an early wobble, Dart Link were 58-3 after six overs.

Riazudin (26) and Ankur Jhulka (20) piled on the runs before the latter became Ahmed Raza’s second victim in the 12th over.

Interface soon gained the initiative and UAE captain Raza then dismissed Riazudin two overs later.

The momentum was with Interface especially after Mehar Chhayakar (0) was sent back to the pavilion. Despite the huge run-rate, Dart Link reached their target with two balls to spare thanks to an unbeaten 10 from Anfal PM.

Meanwhile, in Pool One, Waqas Haroon’s half-century proved to be the difference as Age Steel enjoyed a four-wicket triumph over Unicon Real Estate.

Set a stiff target of 173 with Naseeb Khan (63) and Waseem Rana (67) making a vital contribution, Age Steel recovered from early wickets to seal victory in the 18th over.

Haroon was in unstoppable form, finishing unbeaten on 79 from just 53 balls in a knock which included 10 boundaries. The victory kept their qualification hopes alive,
