Grab your board and paddle and get ready to hit the water at round two of the Naish N1SCO race series for fast and furious fun.

The competition, which is the second of five rounds in the series, will be held at Xtreme Wake, The Camp, Ghantoot in Abu Dhabi on Friday, January 23.

Registration is still open all day today and up until midnight tomorrow, but will close sooner if places fill up.

The paddleboard event is open to both water sports enthusiasts and those interested in getting a taste of it. No experience is required and everyone from children to adults can participate in the familyfriendly series.

The Naish N1SCO race has both sprint and long distance races in three categories – keiki (small children), juniors and adults.

Children aged five up to 12 can take part in the keiki category, which features a two-lap, 100 metre sprint, while juniors and adults will also have a one kilometre and three kilometre long distance run, respectively.

All geared up: Organisers will provide inflatable board and paddle to participants who don’t own one.

Plenty of prizes are up for grabs to the top finishers for the series.

If you can’t make all five rounds, your three best sprint scores and two best long distances scores will be taken.

Points are awarded with first place in each category earning 0.7 points, second place receiving two points and so on. At the end of the series, the individuals with the lowest point totals win.

After one round in the 100m sprint, Scott Chambers of Brazil leads among men, Tracey Orr of Great Britain tops the women’s list, Guy Welchman of Britain paces the juniors and Levi Chard of Thailand tops keiki.

For the competition, every paddler is required to race with the inflatable Naish One board. If you don’t possess your own board, Naish One boards will be available to rent on location at the race, along with a single blade paddle.

For those not interested in taking part, spectators are also welcome to come and support friends and family with marinaside
    viewing.
