  • Comfortable surroundings: Biggles Pub has a capacity of 140 people.

The World Cup is a historic sporting event, so what better way to enjoy the final four teams battling it out than by being surrounded with rich history at Biggles Pub.

Located in Millennium Airport Hotel Dubai, the famed English bar is decked in World War II aviation-themed memorabilia.

The walls are decorated with framed pictures of fighter planes and jackets, with model airplanes hanging from the ceiling as the finishing touches on a traditional setting.

“For over 20 years now, Biggles Pub has been providing the city with a corner of dear old England that has become a favourite spot for excellent food and beverage and, live entertainment,” said Benedict Hipolito, food and beverage administrator at Millennium Hotels.

The venue has an indoor and outdoor area for live entertainment with a capacity for holding 140 people.

Guests will never miss a minute of football with Biggles boasting a whopping 17 high definition televisions, ranging in size from 19 to 80 inches, offering the ultimate viewing experience.

Food and beverages from the special Brazilian menu are available with beverage promotions starting at Dh32.

The cuisine ranges from pub grub like buffalo chicken wings to Biggles favourite shepherd’s pie.

With the World Cup wrapping up, the pub also has a number of ways to keep patrons entertained, including a foosball table that gives them a chance to score their own goals.

“Our prompt and friendly servers will keep you in your ice-breaker moods while you are trying to win the prizes either from the weekly quiz nights, bingo, or karaoke, or just having your usual night cap while listening to live music,” said Hipolito.

Biggles has monthly tribute acts by guest performers that have recently featured Phil Collins, Elton John, Freddie Mercury and others.

More acts will make their mark in the latter half of the year.

The pub is open daily up to 2:00 and the unique atmosphere is just the ticket for the rest of the World Cup or a lively night out.
