TLC this week spoke with WWE NXT graduate and former WWE tag-team and United States champion Cesaro to pick his brains over his favourite moments inside a WWE ring.
The 34-year-old Swiss wrestler – real name Claudio Castagnoli – has built quite the following since making his main show debut on Smackdown in 2012 and boasts a loyal army of ‘Cesaro Section’ followers.
Over the course of the past three years, and two WWE title reigns, Cesaro has featured high up on showpiece pay-per-views from the Royal Rumble and Hell in the Cell to successfully defending his title at Night of Champions and the ‘Grand Daddy of them all’, WrestleMania.
With a lot of matches to choose from, it was no easy feat for the big man.
“It’s a really hard question, I’ll try and think of some matches and probably remember some I’ve forgotten later on,” Cesaro tells Sport360, before giving it his best shot.
Here are his picks…
1. Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal – WrestleMania XXX (April 2104)
Cesaro: "First up it has to be the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. I’d say this for obvious reasons, it being WrestleMania and a tribute to a wrestling legend."
2. Cesaro vs John Cena – RAW US Open challenge (July 2014)
"Stuck in my head is my match with John Cena from Raw. It was intense and lasted about thirty minutes."
3. Cesaro vs Sheamus, Japan tour (July 2013)
"This was a really tough match with Sheamus in Japan but one you’ll probably never see! It was a great match though."
4. Cesaro and Tyson Kidd vs The Usos, WWE tag-team title match – Fastlane (February 2015)
"This was a great moment when me and Tyson won the tag-team championships. I will always remember this."
5. Cesaro vs Sami Zayn – NXT arrival (February 27, 2014)
"This is on the list because it was the most difficult match I’ve ever had to win."
