For the first time ever a FIBA World Championship is being staged in the Middle East, with some 16 teams bidding to be crowned champions.
The U17 tournament is a great way to see some of the brightest young talent from around the world in action.
The 16 teams from across FIBA's five zones that will compete in the tournament are: Angola, Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Japan, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Serbia, Spain, UAE and USA.
The inaugural World Championship were staged in Germany in 2010, while the second edition took place two years later in Lithuania, with the USA winning both editions.
