Launched in 2011, the Pink Caravan established itself as a pan-UAE initiative focussed on combatting breast cancer. With each passing year, the organisation has earned recognition within and outside UAE borders, appointing ambassadors from various backgrounds to reach different voices and preach its ethos.
While the Caravan mostly organised horse-related events, the Pink Strides wants willing individuals to take to the streets for a 7km walk at the Khalid Lagoon Corniche in Sharjah to help promote healthy living and amass funds.
Aside from the principle event, there will also be a boat parade on the water nearby waters thanks to the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club’s cooperation.
Thanks to a fruitful collaboration with leading cancer research institute, Gustave Roussy Cancer Centre, the Pink Caravan helped inaugurate the Sharjah Breast Care Centre (SBCC), which offers comprehensive breast cancer treatments for inconveniences as a result of the disease.
