India has increased its lead at the top of the ICC Test Rankings after gaining five points from their 4-0 series victory over England.

The Virat Kohli-led side now has a 15-point advantage at the top of the table. With their next five Tests scheduled to be at home against Bangladesh [one Test] and Australia [four], it’s likely that they will occupy the top spot for sometime to come.

England, on the other hand, has lost four points and dropped down to fifth – with Pakistan and South Africa overtaking Alastair Cook’s men. England next play a Test in June 2017, which means they have no chance of climbing back up the rankings any time soon.

Australia are second, closely followed by Pakistan and South Africa – both of whom are separated by decimal points.

New Zealand are ahead of Sri Lanka – again on decimal points – in sixth, while Bangladesh’s Test series draw against England recently sees them just four points off seventh-placed West Indies.
