One rider from each team posed for photos with the beautiful Hatta Dam lake view as a backdrop – after the unfortunate cancellation of the stage.

On behalf of the whole peloton, the race leader Marcel Kittel explained: “It is a pity, but it is absolutely impossible to race in these weather conditions.”

ROUTE

The final stage is a classic, weaving its way through the Old and New Towns. It starts in the direction of the great Meydan Racecourse before reaching and crossing Mushrif Park and then heads to the beaches of Al Mamzar (first Intermediate Sprint).

The stage then runs through Deira, Al Maktoum Bridge and the entire Old Town, almost to Port Rashid, and from there enters Jumeirah Road past the large Union Flag (another Intermediate Sprint).

After the turning point in Burj Al Arab, the stage re-enters Jumeirah Road and runs until City Walk, the site of the finish line.
