KL Rahul became the ninth batsman and the second Indian in the history of Test cricket to be dismissed on 199 during the fifth Test between India and England at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
Before Rahul, the only Indian batsman to be dismissed on the unfortunate mark was Mohammad Azharuddin back in 1986 in a Test against Sri Lanka at Kanpur.
Interestingly, no batsman in the first 107 years of Test cricket was dismissed on 199 before Pakistan’s Mudassar Nazar became the first in a Test against India in 1984.
