As expected, Virat Kohli has been named as the new captain of the Indian ODI and T20I teams after MS Dhoni stepped down from the helm on Wednesday.

Dhoni, though, has been included in both limited overs squads that will face England in a best-of-three series.

Elsewhere, Yuvraj Singh has made a return to the Indian ODI team after a gap of more than three years. The Punjab left-handed batsman has also been included in the T20I team.

Uncapped players Rishabh Pant and Yuzvendra Chahal find a place in the T20I squad. Pant was impressive in the ICC U-19 World Cup and the Ranji Trophy in 2016 and is seen as a natural successor to Dhoni as the wicket-keeper batsman of the Indian limited overs teams.

Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Umesh Yadav, Kedar Jadhav and Amit Mishra find themselves only in the ODI squad, while Suresh Raina, Mandeep Singh, Ashish Nehra have been considered as T20 specialists.

India face England in the first ODI on January 15 at Pune.
