Following his goal against Sweden on Tuesday night, Cristiano Ronaldo moved to third position, level with Germany legend Miroslav Klose, in the all-time European international goalscoring stakes.
The Real Madrid icon, who has 71 goals from 138 appearances for his country, is now one goal away from overtaking Klose.
Ronaldo still has work to do to catch Hungarian top two duo Ferenc Puskas and Sandor Kocsis but if the 32-year-old continues his fine form, which has seen him score 14 international goals in as many matches since the start of 2016, then we shouldn’t rule it out.
