  • The official trailer of Indian one-day cricket captain, MS Dhoni’s biopic, M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story was launched amid great fanfare on Thursday night in Mumbai. Apart from Dhoni, director Neeraj Pandey and film lead Sushant Singh Rajput were present at the launch.

Already a YouTube hit, the trailer has garnered over 2 million views in less than 24 hours. While many from the film and cricketing fraternity took to Twitter to express their appreciation of the trailer, fans were intrigued by a certain portion in the trailer that alludes to Dhoni having to drop three senior cricketers from the Indian team.

The movie which is perhaps the first ever official biopic to be made on an Indian cricketer has been in the news for some time now. In late 2014, there were rumours that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had opposed the making of this film. The BCCI had later softened their stance, making it clear that they had no objection to the film as long as it doesn’t hamper the professional life of the Indian captain.

M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story is set to hit screens on 30 September 2016.
