After cruising through her first round match in straight sets against Daria Kasatkina, 6-2 7-5, the Dane discussed a new face in her coaching team.

The former World No1 is now working alongside Sascha Bajin on a temporary basis – a man who previously toured with Williams and Victoria Azarenka.

He is currently working with Wozniacki as a hitting partner and helping to scout opponents alongside the star’s dad and long-term coach Piotr.

And Bajin’s appointment was made after conferring with Williams – a close friend of Wozniacki’s.

“Serena said he’s a hard worker and she had nothing bad to say about him,” the 26-year-old told assembled media ahead of her next match against Viktorija Golubic on Tuesday.
