  • The World No1 is ready to step back onto the court in Dubai this week for the first time since his quarter-final exit at the Australian Open last month.

Leaving Melbourne early was of course not what Murray had planned, but the period of rest, recovery and practice since then has reignited the Scot as he looks to kick start his 2017.

The 29-year-old, who was runner-up at the tournament in 2012, told Sport360: “When you get there you want to stay there for as long as you can. It’s not easy. The run I had to go on to get there takes a lot out of you.”

“I need to make sure, at the big events, that I don’t have any big let downs. My first priority is getting back to winning ways and playing some good tennis again.”
