  • Relive some of our best interviews with these Liverpool legends.

Robbie Fowler is back in the UAE this Thursday  as part of the opening of the new Liverpool FC club store in Abu Dhabi.

He’s not the first Liverpool legend to come to the UAE; below are five times Sport360 caught up with ex-Reds in the UAE.

Want us to ask Fowler a question on your behalf? Comment below, use #360fans on Twitter or get in touch via Facebook.

    ROBBIE FOWLER

We start with the man himself who spoke to Alex Rea for our Day With: Robbie Fowler feature in February this year.

Fowler spoke all things Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp and covered the fitness and form of Daniel Sturridge in a wide-ranging interview while the Kop hero was in Dubai for a 5Times golf day event at Emirates Golf Club.

    Fowler’s favourite current Liverpool star?

“Philippe Coutinho. I know he’s been injured the last few weeks but he is a really talented player. I would have loved to play alongside him because as a striker, you make any run and he’ll find you.”

You can read the full interview, here.

    IAN RUSH

We go back to 2013 when another iconic Liverpool striker, Ian Rush, spoke exclusively to Sport360 as part of beIN Sports’ promotion of their new club content.

At the time, Liverpool were playing under Brendan Rodgers and Luis Suarez had been itching for a move away form the club before they took a stance not to sell their star asset.

Did Liverpool handle Arsenal’s interest in Suarez correctly?

“I thought the owners were brilliant the way they handled the whole affair. Absolutely superb. They made it clear that he’s a Liverpool player, that no-one is bigger than the club and that they weren’t prepared to sell to a rival club.”

    DIETMAR HAMANN

The 42-year-old German, who made 191 appearances in the Liverpool jersey over a seven year spell, told us all about the task at hand for Jurgen Klopp when we interviewed Hamann in January this year.

He believed the club’s players had gone missing for far too long and called on the team to take more responsibility under Klopp.

With the transfer window coming to a close, he also had some thoughts on how the club should invest:

“We hear the club needs new players, but at least try and get the best out of the current players and hopefully we can have a successful future.”

    VLADIMIR SMICER

Having rolled back the years to dazzle the fans in the Dubai Duty Free Football Legends tournament, Smicer told Sport360 of his memories of the 2005 Champions League final, his toughest opponents in the Premier League and his heartbreak at missing out on the 2006 World Cup.

It was another of our Day With: features, this time focusing on Smicer’s cult hero status at the club.

The Czech midfielder player in Liverpool’s most successful team in recent history and is idolised by fans as a result.

He recalled how Rafa Benitez famously instigated Liverpool’s turnaround in THAT Istanbul final.

“For the first five minutes, everyone had their heads down and Rafa Benitez came in and he was trying to be positive. He said it’s still not over and there are still 40,000 fans inside the stadium and they deserve something. He changed the team and had a good talk and he said if we can score just one goal that will give us the confidence to get the second and then the third.”

    JOHN BARNES

We were treated to a feast of Liverpool legends at that Dubai Duty Free Football Legends tournament, where we also caught up with John Barnes, Patrik Berger and David Fairclough.

Once again we put a camera in their faces and talked all things the red side of the River Mersey.
