  • Suspended UEFA president Michel Platini has observed a minute of silence in honour of the victims of the Paris attacks.

The ceremony took place at the headquarters of European football’s governing body in Nyon, Switzerland.

Platini’s legal team earlier said the Frenchman was so affected by the string of attacks that killed at least 129 people that it was “impossible” for him not to attend.

The decision is a potential breach of the ban preventing him from entering UEFA’s headquarters.

Platini has been suspended from all football-related activities for 90 days over a 2011 payment from FIFA.

UEFA said earlier that all teams playing in European internationals this week will wear black armbands, with a minute of silence held before kickoff in honor of those killed in Paris.
