  • Pablo Perez was dismissed only 12 minutes for Boca Juniors.

Pablo Perez received as 12-minute red card as Boca Juniors drew with River Plate in the Superclasico.

Goalless draws in Argentina’s most lauded game are becoming commonplace after their stalemate last month at Estadio Monumental.

Midfielder Perez was dismissed after reacting angrily to Eder Balanta’s late challenge on Boca goalkeeper Agustin Orion.

Down to 10 men, Boca continued to attack, but neither side were able to find the required quality to forge a decent chance on goal.

The visitors went closest in the first half as Orion kept out Andres D’Alessandro’s curling free-kick just before the break.

In the second period, Carlos Tevez brought a near-post save out of Marcelo Barovero but both sides remain floundering mid-table after settling for a point each.
