    Aston Villa and Sunderland both spent the majority of this season in the Premier League fighting against relegation, but when it mattered most the team from the north east was able to put together a run of form and escape the drop.

    Thomas Sorensen played over 100 games for both clubs and fewer people are better suited to passing judgment on the two clubs.
