It was the not so calm before the storm at the French Open on Saturday as thousands of visitors turned up for Kids’ Day at Roland Garros.

Some of the tournament’s biggest stars took part in the festive day including Novak Djokovic, Garbine Muguruza, Elina Svitolina, Sascha Zverev, Dominic Thiem, Karolina Pliskova, Simona Halep and surprise guest Victoria Azarenka, who is in Paris for a wedding and will return to the tour next month from her maternity leave.

A host of France’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes also showed up for the charity event that attracted an estimated 23,450 fans to the venue.

All profits from Kids’ Day will be donated to two associations, Fête le Mur and Tennis en Liberté, as well as French Tennis Federation (FFT) clubs selected to run educational, social and charity activities in underprivileged neighbourhoods, and work in the areas of disabled sport and wellness through sport.
