  • Whoever thought bike riding was just an all-boys club are a day late and a dirham short to the party of female bike riders at Moto Women Only, who not only share an undying passion for motorcycles, but have navigated through the risky mountain ranges of the Himalayas as well.

Moto Women Only started off with a group of young women, with whom all of them shared an insatiable wanderlust and unique love for biking.

These passionate women were guided by Agata Gregorek throughout Moto Women Only’s Himalayan expedition.

Agata’s motorcycle and travelling passions turned into a project before she even realised it.

“My friend contacted me over a year ago, saying that she was planning a trip there over a year ago to ride her Royal Enfield across the highest immotorable passes of Himalaya and of the world in general. It took me less than a minute to say, ‘Yes I am going with you’,” she said with a wide grin.

The 33-year old Polish national has been primarily based in Dubai for over three years and is an active part of Dubai automobile and touring club.

Once her involvement with the Moto Women began, she was so overwhelmed by the response it received in the region’s motorsports community and the number of women joining the cause; they eventually changed the format of the event to be exclusively for women.

“At the beginning it was just few of us, and in time we ended up having 15 girls altogether who decided to dedicate themselves to the idea of the trip and wanted to participate.”

She continued: “We had a lot of girls contacting us, who said they wanted to join. We decided to change the format of the whole thing and we decided that first of all it is going to be only females. A lot of friends wanted to do it and we have a lot of petrol-heads as our girlfriends – so it made sense to do something cool together.”

The Moto Women Only Himalayan Expedition was a real test of strength and forbearance for all the women involved, and just pushing their limits was an extremely profound moment for the convoy.

After the successfully the Himalayas with their bikes, the next Moto Women Only adventure is set to take place in Kyrgyzstan.
