The Egyptian thrashed Mathieu Gastagnet and impressed the Dubai crowd with an array of drop shots, feints and boasts.
After the match El Shorbagy was quick to pay tribute to his team for the victory and previewed his next opponent Miguel Angel Rodriguez, who will provide a much sterner examination on Wednesday.
