Dietmar Hamann

Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann thinks RB Leipzig's midfielder and the club's transfer target Naby Keita would suit their style of play although wishing they would strengthen their defence first.

Keita has been on Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp's radar this transfer window and there have been many rumours surrounding his move to Anfield this summer.

When asked about Keita, Hamann said, he is a very capable player and brings a lot to the team, but stressed on the fact that defensively Liverpool haven't been that sound over the past three years.

According to Hamann, signing a right-back or left-back or a defensive midfielder would be a better move.
When questioned if Virgil van Dijk would fit Liverpool's system, he said, "That would be great. He's probably one of the best centre-backs in the league."

He also added that he'd love to see him (van Dijk) at the club as his inclusion would improve the team.

Phil Neville

Former Manchester United and Everton defender, Phil Neville feels the acquisition of Wayne Rooney and other new signings in the ongoing transfer window bodes well for Ronald Koeman's side.

Despite selling their main striker Romelu Lukaku to United, Neville believes the club have so far done the best business in the transfer window.

Speaking in an interview, Neville also praised Rooney, explaining how the England international's hunger for more trophies has taken him to his former club.

With all these big transfers taking place prior to the start of the Premier League Neville thinks the clubs in Manchester will be the biggest threat to the defending champions, Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Neville also heaped praise on Michael Carrick claiming he is the ideal captain for United as he takes over the armband from Rooney.

Kyle Walker is poised to become the most expensive defender ever when he joins Manchester City for £54 million.

The 27-year-old will undergo a medical at the Etihad Stadium on Friday before signing a five-year deal at £150,000-per-week.

Walker, 27, will bring with him the experience of more than 180 Premier League appearances for Spurs, whom he joined from Sheffield United in 2009, and is expected to join up with the rest of the City squad for next week's tour to the United States.

City are also said to have been tracking Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy, another who could sign for the Sky Blues for close to £50m, after the initial offer of £40m was rejected.
