Belgium centre-back Thomas Vermaelen says the promise of regular football was a major factor in his decision to join Barcelona from Arsenal for £15m and sign a five-year contract.
The 28-year-old only made 21 appearances in all competitions last term for the Gunners.
After a long summer of speculation, Vermaelen completed his move to Barcelona earlier this week.
