Valentina Shevchenko and Julianna Pena, the UFC’s top two bantamweight fighters, are gearing up for their showdown on Saturday at UFC Fight Night Denver.
At open workouts ahead of the fight, Shevchenko said she is pushing herself to the limit in her preparations.
“My focus is only to take this victory,” the top-ranked Shevchenko said. “I’m very motivated.”
For her part, Pena said her week of preparation leading up to the fight had been “great”, adding: “It’s time to enjoy the moment.”
She also fired a warning at Shevchenko, saying: “I’m going to kick, scream, punch, do whatever I have to in order to get this win.”
Donald Cerrone, Jorge Masvidal, Francis Ngannou, and Andrei Arlovski were also present at the open workouts.
Conor McGregor is currently taking a break from fighting as he and his partner Dee Devlin are expecting their first child, and thus there have been plenty of sightings of the UFC lightweight champion in Dublin.
Recently, one fan spotted McGregor sitting in his car in Dublin’s city centre, and approached the fighter. However, there was one slight problem – McGregor did not seem too happy that the fan was filming this encounter on his phone.
The 28-year-old initially tried ignoring the fan but, ultimately, his frustrations got the better of him and McGregor tried slapping the phone out of the fan’s hand.
Fortunately, the phone survived, and the fan uploaded the video to Snapchat, saying: “Just met Conor McGregor and he went for me.”
Anyone else who spots McGregor driving around Dublin should probably approach with caution.
