  • The Bucks had scored seven straight points, the last two on Jabari Parker’s lay-up, to force overtime but came up short despite 30 points from Parker and 25 with 13 rebounds from Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The win lifted Cleveland to a 20-6 record, top of the NBA Eastern Conference ahead of the Toronto Raptors.

The latter side moved to 20-8 with a 116-104 win over the Brooklyn Nets, a result that was even more comfortable than the scoreline indicates as the Raptors never trailed and led by as many as 23 points. Kyle Lowry scored 23 points and Norman Powell 21.

The Boston Celtics beat the Memphis Grizzlies 112-109 with 44 points from Isaiah Thomas to sit third in the East, half a game ahead of the Charlotte Hornets who won 117-113 against the Los Angeles Lakers. Kemba Walker had 28 points and 10 assists.

The New York Knicks finished their match on a 27-12 run to beat the Indiana Pacers 118-111 while the Orlando Magic needed two overtime periods to finally see off the Miami Heat 136-130, Nikola Vucevic and Evan Fournier with 26 points each and Vucevic adding 12 rebounds. Miami’s  Hassan Whiteside and Tyler Johnson scored 32 apiece.

In the Western Conference, Stephen Curry scored 25 points and Kevin Durant 22 as leaders the Golden State Warriors cruised past the Utah Jazz 104-74.

The San Antonio Spurs won 102-100 against the Houston Rockets, whose 10-game winning run came to an end. Kawhi Leonard top-scored with 21 points while there were double-doubles for LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol.

The Los Angeles Clippers won 119-102 against the Denver Nuggets with 27 points from JJ Redick but they will be without forward Blake Griffin for six weeks due to a knee injury.

DeMarcus Cousins poured in a stunning 55 points and had 13 rebounds as the Portland Trail Blazers edged out the Sacramento Kings 126-121, while the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Philadelphia 76ers 108-93.
