American hotshot and ‘adrenaline junkie’ Rickie Fowler enjoyed an unexpected thrill of a different kind Saturday when he saddled up and rode a camel at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.

Fowler, who is playing in Abu Dhabi this week for the first time, embraced the opportunity to meet Shaheen the camel and experience a short ride in front of a delighted crowd of fans.

The young thrill-seeker, who was a serious motocross rider from a young age, looked natural and at ease on top of the camel, saying: “When in Abu Dhabi, you have to ride a camel!”
