  • Fujairah have won one, drawn one so far in the AGC.

Fujairah put Sharjah to the sword with a 3-1 win to move top of the Arabian Gulf Cup Group B on Friday night.

Host Fujairah went ahead in the 8th minute thanks to a stunning strike from Khalil Khamis.

Picking the ball up just outside the Sharjah penalty area, Khamis carried the ball before unleashing a fierce strike into the top corner from 20 yards.

Just four minutes later the home side doubled the lead as Omar Ali swept home on the volley as the visitors failed to clear a corner from the right.

The game should have been put beyond Sharjah on the stroke of half-time after Mauricio Ramos was adjudged to have fouled Patrick Friday Eze in the box after some fine work from the striker.

However, French striker Cristophe Mandanne was unable to convert the spot-kick, sending the ball well wide from 12 yards.

It looked like the penalty miss would prove costly four minutes into the second-45 as Wanderley superbly controlled on his chest from compatriot to Maicosuel’s header back across goal and applied the simplest of finishes from six yards out to half the deficit.

Despite Sharjah gaining control of the second-half, Fujairah did put the game to bed just after the hour mark as Eze took the ball off Mandanne’s foot and fired into the top corner with a rasping left-footed drive.
