More than 2,000 children have signed up for the inaugural Etisalat Dubai Kids’ Run this weekend but there’s still time to register ahead of tonight’s 19:00 deadline.
However, if you miss the deadline there’s plenty of activities at their fun fair that will keep youngsters occupied.
Taking place tomorrow (Friday) at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, children aged between nine and 12 can compete in their 2km run from 09:30, while four to eight-year-olds can participate in the same distance with their parent or guardian at 09:45.
The run is part of Etisalat’s initiative in promoting a healthy lifestyle and the event’s founder Dominic De Sousa has been overwhelmed by the response.
“It’s fantastic and very encouraging to see so many parents wanting to get involved – and, now they finally have a platform to do so (by accompanying children in the four to eight-years-old run),” said De Sousa, who is also the chairman and owner of CPI Media Group.
After the run, the entertainment will continue at the free-admission fun fair, which will open from 10:00 tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday.
Children can look forward to a wide range of activities including fun rides, while there will be plenty of opportunities to win some fantastic prizes with competitions and giveaways all on the agenda.
De Sousa believes there will be lots of positives for those children who compete in the run or attend the fun fair.
“This event promises to educate children on the importance of health and staying active, in a fun, exciting manner,” he said.
Entry for the run is Dh100 per child and registration can be done by visiting the Habtoor Grand Beach Resort and Spa Autograph Collection hotel, ahead of tonight’s 19:00 deadline.
