  • ONE Championship returns to our screens this weekend for their first event of 2023, and what a blockbuster we have to kick off the year.

Coming to you from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, here are five reasons you should be tuning in.

    Two Kickboxing classics

We start the year with not one, but two kickboxing title fights. Headlining the card ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Superbon Singha Mawynn defends his belt against ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix Champion Chingiz Allazov in what will be a stunning clash of champions. In the co-main event a new champion will be crowned when Thai star Superlek Kiatmoo9 squares off against Spanish sensation Daniel Puertas for the vacant ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title. Two fight, two titles on the line – and something you don’t want to miss.

A chance to see Mikey Musumeci

If you were to see Mikey Musumeci away from the world of fighting you’d be excused for thinking he was the last person you’d see in combat sports. Even though he looks more like he’d fit in a classroom rather than a gym, make no mistake – Musumeci is the elite of the elite. He will put his ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Championship on the line this weekend and fans will be expecting another clinic from the incredible American. He will face a tough test however in the form of Combat Sambo World Champion Gantumur Bayanduuren – who will not just be going to make up the numbers and will be doing all he can to leave with the gold.

A women’s fight for the ages

The mixed rules atomweight clash between Stamp Fairtex and Anissa Meksen should be a classic. Mixed rules means the four-round clash will alternate between Muay Thai and MMA rules in a unique spectacle not seen before in women’s fighting. Fairtex is the atomweight World Grand Prix Champion, and is a former kickboxing and Muay Thai world champion. Across from her will be French Algerian Meksen who can legitimately lay claim to being on the world’s premiere strikers. This is one not to be missed.

    A deep card

Everywhere you look on the card there is top talent and exciting fights. Outside of the three title fights look out for former two-weight world champion Aung La N Sang, Muay Thai warrior Rodtang, and legend Garry Tonon all in action.

    A tribute to Victoria Lee

The MMA world was stunned this week at the loss of Victoria Lee. The sister of ONE champions Angela and Christian passed away at the age of just 18. This will be the first event since the announcement of her death and will give fight fans around the world a chance to come together and remember one of the sport’s brightest young talents.

ONE Fight Night 6: Superbon v Allazov takes place Saturday January 14 4am GST at the Impact Arena, Bangkok. This is a night not to be missed so mark your calendars, download the ONE Super App, and go to watch.onefc.com now!
