Afghanistan captain Asghar Stanikzai has claimed his team has better spinners than India as they prepare for their inaugural Test in Bengaluru on June 14.

Afghanistan have spin twins Rashid Khan and Mujeeb ur Rahman in their line-up, adding to Stanikzai’s confidence.

7:30pm – Morgan won’t take Scotland lightly

England captain Eoin Morgan said his team will be on high alert when they begin their white-ball season against Scotland on Sunday.

Morgan’s team begin their World Cup preparation with an ODI in Edinburgh. “They are an extremely competitive side and we are looking forward to it,” Morgan said.

10.38am: Mitchell Starc says his comments were taken ‘out of context’

Australian spearhead Mitchell Starc has issued a strong statement responding to reports he criticised banned teammates Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft at a corporate function, insisting his comments were taken out of context.

Earlier this week Starc spoke at a Women in Banking and Finance forum in Sydney  and was quoted appearing to criticise Smith and Bancroft for their initial press conference in Cape Town after being accused of ball-tampering.
