After ending the first day on 347-6, India have gone past 400-run mark on the second day of the lone Test match against Afghanistan. All-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin was the man to depart, falling to Yamin Ahmadzai with 18 runs to his name. Later, Hardik Pandya brought up his fifty to put India in control. The hosts eventually went on to score 474 with Pandya smashing 71.

But Afghanistan find themselves in big trouble after being forced to follow on after the tourists were bowled out for 109 in 27.5 overs. Ravi Ashwin was the man in form, taking four wickets while Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja claimed two each.

Things didn’t get any better as Jadeja added to his tally with four more scalps as Afghanistan were all out for 109 and fall to an innings and 262-run defeat.  Hashmatullah Shahidi, who was one of three players to reach double figures, top scored with 36.
