6:21pm – Chandimal to miss Asia Cup
Sri Lanka’s Test captain Dinesh Chandimal has been withdrawn from the squad for this month’s Asia Cup due to a finger injury.

3:45pm – Cook brings up century
Alastair Cook has scored a century in his final Test innings, signing off on a storied career which had also begun with a century against India, back in 2006 in Nagpur. Cook brought up the mark as England piled on the runs on Day 4 of the fifth and final Test of the series.
10:30am – England looking to build big lead
England ended day three 154 runs ahead of India despite Ravindra Jadeja’s fighting 84 not out for the visitors.
The hosts had to weather another excellent spell of bowling from India’s quicks, as well as Jadeja himself, after bowling India out for 292.
Alastair Cook, playing his final innings in Test cricket, ended the day unbeaten on 46 alongside captain Joe Root, with England 114/2.

Sri Lanka Test captain Dinesh Chandimal was withdrawn Monday from the 16-member squad for the Asian Cup because of an injury during a recent domestic tournament, the board said.
The 28-year-old batsman had injured a finger during a domestic Twenty20 match and needed more time to recover, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said in a statement.
Chandimal will be replaced by wicketkeeper and batsman Niroshan Dickwella at the six-nation Asia Cup tournament which opens in the United Arab Emirates on Saturday, the SLC said.
Sri Lanka squad: Angelo Mathews (Captain), Kusal Perera, Kusal Mendis, Upul Tharanga, Niroshan Dickwella, Danushka Gunathilaka, Thisara Perera, Dasun Shanaka, Dhanajaya de Silva, Akila Dananjaya, Dilruwan Perera, Amila Aponso, Kasun Rajitha, Suranga Lakmal, Dushmantha Chameera and Lasith Malinga.
Dubai Sports City are inviting cricket fans to watch the eagerly anticipated Asia Cup 2018 at their Fan Park located in the Sports Village from September 18.
The tournament, which will be hosted at Dubai International Stadium and Zayed Cricket Stadium from September 15, will be shown at the fully air-conditioned Dome in Dubai Sports City from September 18 – 28, including the highly anticipated India v Pakistan meeting as well as the final. The first game to be broadcast at the Cricket Fan Park will see India play in their first qualifying match against the recently qualified Hong Kong.
Organisers are promising an electric, festival atmosphere at the Fan Park with music, beverages, food trucks and stalls serving a selection of Asian and continental dishes, including a traditional chaat station, all available to purchase. There will also be a kids’ area and gaming zone to keep the whole family entertained.
Entry to the 700-capacity venue is free of charge for fans of all ages and will be filled with the colourful flags of the teams competing, as well as a host of cricket-themed branding and activities.
Visitors to the Fan Park will be able to cheer on their team in a thrilling stadium atmosphere. Doors to the Fan Park will be open from 14:00 and will stay open until the early hours of the morning.
Please note that access to the venue will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Asia Cup is a one-day international cricket tournament, meaning each match contains innings of 50 overs. This will be the 14th running of the event and the third time it has been held in the UAE – the previous two being in 1984 and 1995.

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong will contest the competition.
