    Umesh Yadav’s figures of 6-88 in West Indies’ first innings at Hyderabad is the first time an India pacer has picked up a six-wicket haul at home since Javagal Srinath picked up 6-45 against New Zealand in 1999.

    9:40pm – James Anderson accuses past Aussie teams of ultra-aggressive approach

    England pacer James Anderson has accused Australia teams of the past few years of attempting to be overly aggressive.

    The all-time leading Test wicket-taking fast bowler looked back at England’s recent Ashes tour of Australia last winter with BBC’s Cricket Social.

    9:30pm – Jason Roy aiming for maiden England Test call up

    Having seen Jos Buttler force his way back into England’s Test set-up over the course of the summer, Jason Roy too is eyeing a call up in the five-day format.

    The limited-overs opener will be a part of the England Lions squad which will tour the UAE later this year and is hoping to make use of that platform to confirm his Test credentials.

    9:00pm – India’s youngsters upstage established seniors 

    India’s youngsters Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant have made quite the impression with their aggressive batting in the ongoing Test series against the West Indies. The pair have upstaged more established senior players with their outstanding strike-rates at the crease.

    8:00pm – Abu Dhabi the true Test of Australia’s resurgence

    The Australian squad made quite the statement with their gritty resolve to hold Pakistan to a draw in the first Test at Dubai. The remarkable result in Dubai following Usman Khawaja and Tim Paine’s heroics has been hailed as a watershed moment for Australian cricket following the infamous ball-tampering episode earlier this year.

    7:00pm – Niall O’Brien ends 16-year-old professional career

    Ireland wicketkeeper-batsman Niall O’Brien has announced his retirement following a 16-year playing career.

    O’Brien first represented Ireland in 2002 and played 216 times for the national side, including their inaugural Test against Pakistan earlier this summer.

    6:00pm – Shehzar Mohammad continues family’s illustrious history

    Pakistan batsman Shehzar Mohammad wrote himself into the record books on Friday as he notched up his maiden first-class double hundred.

    Grandson of the legendary Hanif Mohammad, Shehzar slammed a 265 for Karachi Whites in their Quaid-e-Azam clash against Multan.

    5:30pm – Pakistan first-class pitches under the scanner

    Pakistan’s first-class cricket has come in for sharp criticism after teams were bowled out for shocking scores of 35 and 44 while another match was suspended due to dangerous conditions.

    All results happened within the space of one week in Pakistan’s premier first class tournament – the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy – putting the spotlight firmly on the state of pitches in the country.

    5:00pm – India in control in second Test against the Windies

    An unbroken fifth-wicket stand between Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant has given India the upper hand in the second Test against the West Indies at Hyderabad.

    India were batting on 308-4 when day two drew to a close with Rahane and Pant nearing their respective centuries. Earlier, the visitors had been bowled out for 311 in their first innings.

    4:00pm – England beat Sri Lanka by 31 runs in second ODI

    There was no let up in the weather at Dambulla and it is the D/L method which has decided the final outcome of the second ODI. England have won the match by 31 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match ODI series.

    14:00 – Rain delays Sri Lanka’s chase in second ODI against England

    After the first ODI was washed out by rain, the wet weather turned to stop Sri Lanka’s chase for now. The hosts are 140-5 as they aim to chase 279. Catch all the action from Dambulla here.
