  • Out for a duck: Rohan Mustafa

Welcome to the only T20 international between UAE and Australia.

It is the first time the teams have met in an official T20 game with the tourists using the fixture as vital preparation for the three-match T20 series against Pakistan, beginning from Wednesday.

The hosts got off to a terrible start with Rohan Mustafa and Ashfaq Ahmed out inside the first two overs after Mustafa elected to bat first.

The UAE went on to lose wicket as regular intervals as the Aussies took control with Billy Stanlake and Nathan Coulter-Nile taking two wickets each. The UAE finished 117-6 with Shaiman Anwar top-scoring with 41.

The UAE made an instant impact with Amir Hayat removing opener Aaron Finch for one in the second over. Hayat struck again to remove Chris Lynn for 20 as the Australians brought up the 60-run mark in less than 10 overs.

Imran Haider got the UAE’s third wicket with Glenn Maxwell (18) but D’Arcy Short’s unbeaten half-century has put Australia closer to victory. Short finished unbeaten on 68 as Australia won by seven wickets.
