    An alarmed Sourav Ganguly has shot a letter to the BCCI expressing his fears at the state of Indian cricket administration at the moment.

    The former India skipper, who now leads the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), voiced his fears at the ‘appalling’ manner in which cricket was being administered in the country, according to his letter published in a recent report.

    England found themselves in the unusual position of crossing their fingers for more subcontinental spin after their bowling attack struggled to make inroads on the first day of Test preparations in Sri Lanka.

    With a week to go before the first Test, the tourists began the first of two warm-up matches by watching a strong Board XI rack up almost 400 runs on a defiantly unresponsive pitch in Colombo.

    As Pakistan get ready to lock horns with New Zealand in the first of the three T20s on Wednesday, it will be a chance for Sahibzada Farhan to leave his mark. The 22-year-old opening batsman is set to play in the opening T20 with Fakhar Zaman ruled out due to an injury.

    20:30 – Kane Williamson delighted to make international cricket return

    New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson will be hoping his men can dust off the cobwebs when they take on Pakistan in the first T20 of the three-match series at Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

    The Blackcaps have not played any international cricket since the completion of the Test series against England at the start of April this year.

    Ahead of the three-match T20 series against New Zealand which gets underway on Wednesday, Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed has praised the team’s young players. The men in green have been in sensational form in the T20 format with 10 consecutive series victories in a row and Sarfraz has attributed that success to the young blood in the team.

    18:30 – Khaleel Ahmed reprimanded for Samuels send-off

    India pacer Khaleel Ahmed has been awarded a demerit point and received an official ICC warning over his exuberant send-off of West Indies batsman Marlon Samuels on Monday.

    Ahmed, whose 3-13 ripped out the heart of the West Indies’ top order during India’s 224-run win in the fourth ODI, was seen gesticulating towards Samuels after dismissing him.
