4:30pm – Tour match suspended after Sri Lankan player suffers blow to head
England’s tour match against a Sri Lanka Board XI was suspended, and later declared a draw, after Sri Lankan player Pathum Nissanka was hit in the head.
The 20-year-old was fielding at short leg when a shot from England vice-captain Jos Buttler hit him on the crown of the head even as he ducked to avoid it. Nissanka was wearing a helmet, but immediately fell in pain and was rushed to the hospital.
Board XI coach Avishka Gunawardane later confirmed that Nissanka did not lose consciousness, though he was complaining of a pain in the neck.
2:30pm – Ben Stokes retires hurt with injury
Ben Stokes took a blow to the arm while batting for England on Wednesday, and was retired hurt during the side’s tour match against a Sri Lanka Board XI.
England’s medical staff say he didn’t suffer any significant damage, but given how crucial the all-rounder is to the side’s hopes during the Test series, his workload and fitness are being closely monitored.

12:30pm – Differing fortunes for England openers in warm-up match
Keaton Jennings’ struggles continued as he was bowled for 13 on Day 2 of England’s warm-up match ahead of the Test leg of their Sri Lanka tour, but Rory Burns made a fluent 47 before an unfortunate run out ended his innings.

12:20pm – Sourav Ganguly has “deep sense of fear” over future of Indian cricket
A letter published on Monday night written by Sourav Ganguly to the BCCI has made waves after the former India captain laid bare his concerns over the state of Indian cricket administration.
“I write this mail to you all with the deep sense of fear as to where Indian cricket administration is going,” Ganguly wrote, citing the process which led to the appointment of Ravi Shastri as coach of the men’s team and the way the board has handled allegations of sexual harassment against chief executive Rahul Johri as evidence “the authority of Indian…is on the way down”.
